Obituary of Christopher M. O’Reilly
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, poppy, brother, uncle and friend who passed away at the Carmelite house, on February 23,2023, after a lengthy illness, At the age of 72.
Chris was born and raised in Bishop’s Falls in 1951 . He married Paula Pardy on November 21, 1975 and together they had three children, Christopher, Craig and Carla. He worked with Browning Harvey for over 42 years, after which he worked and kept himself busy. He loved his grandchildren dearly and would have moved mountains for them, if he could. He loved going in the woods, being outdoors and cutting fire wood. He also loved a good plate of French fries, a can of Pepsi and Lays Plain chips. He enjoyed watching any kind of movie especially Kung fu. He was a thoughtful, kind, soft hearted, hard working man who had a big heart for helping people and often going out of the way to help others. These traits he passed down to his children. Those that knew Chris appreciated his kind and loving heart, his willingness to put others first and support anyone in their time of need.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Chris is predeceased by his parents, John T and Margaret O’Reilly, Sister, Diane Penney (Jerome), Brother in law, James McPhee. Parents in law, John and Sarah (Jackson) Pardy.
Left with broken hearts but also with many incredible memories, he leaves to mourn his wife of 47 Years, Paula, sons, Christopher (Terrilynn) O’Reilly of Bishop’s Falls, NL, Craig (Carrie) O’Reilly of Airdrie, AB, daughter, Carla (Blair) Reid of Bishop’s Falls, NL and 5 Grandchildren, Griffin, Ryder & Bennett O’Reilly, Jackson and Sarah Reid. Brothers, John (Betty), Wayne (Sharon), sisters, Verna McPhee and Patsy Ryan. Brothers in law, Danny (Gert) Pardy, Randy (Blanche) Pardy, Gary (Judy) Pardy, Bobby Pardy, Sisters in law, Peggy (Art) Sheppard, Cindy (Edward) Mills, Debbie (Lindsy Abbott) Pardy as well a large circle of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of ICU, 3A, 3B, 2A, 2D at the CNRHC as well as the staff at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Centre in Botwood and the staff at the Carmelite house in Grand Falls Windsor.
Pallbearers are Christopher O’Reilly, Craig O’Reilly, Blair Reid, Darren O’Reilly, Gary Pardy Jr & Edward Mills.
