Marilyn Wocks
February 26, 1946 – August 10, 2024
It is with great sadness and relief that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Marilyn Wocks, on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the age of 78. Marilyn fought a long and courageous battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease that lasted 14 years.
Marilyn will always be remembered as a sweet and caring person by her large family and her many dear friends. She enjoyed so many things in life including extensive travel with her beloved husband, Rick, to almost every Caribbean island, Europe, Mexico, China, the U.S. and visiting family across Canada. She loved riding her horse Kay and playing with her many dogs over the years, the last two being Bandit and Gypsy. As a couple, they enjoyed going to many areas of Toronto taking in a myriad of festivals and ethnic dining options. Their favorite restaurant for years was Grazie (Italian).
Marilyn always loved listening to music from Motown to Bocelli. In the long term care home, she was always on the move grooving to her MP3. She was always talking about her “Ricky” and giving out smiles and compliments to everyone.
We want to thank the entire staff and management at Anson Place for their care and support of Marilyn. As per Marilyn’s wishes, the cremation has taken place and Marilyn will be intered in a niche at a later date. Family and friends are encouraged to hold celebration of life gatherings locally. www.rhbanderson.com
