Van Herck, Fred (December 9, 1942 – August 8, 2024)
Passed away, peacefully, following a courageous struggle with illness, Fred Van Herck, formerly of Frogmore, at Delhi Long Term Care, on August 8th, 2024, at the age of 81. Fred was born in Belgium, to Frank and Caroline Van Herck. For many years, Fred worked seasonally in the tobacco fields of Norfolk County. Fred was a quiet man, who enjoyed listening to oldies music and watching classic movies. Fred is survived by his caring niece Sonya (John Samuel), of Delhi and by his much-loved sister Yvonne Dennis, of Simcoe. Also survived by his great-nieces and nephews: Yasmine Samuel, Bradley Brooks, Tyler Brooks and Jennifer Brooks. Predeceased by his nephew James C. Maddox (June 28, 2020).
In keeping with Fred’s expressed wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside service to honour Fred’s life, will take place in the Tillsonburg Cemetery (Section 2A), on Saturday, August 31st, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., by Rev. Fr. Seejo John, of St. Mary’s R.C. Church. Everyone who knew Fred is invited to share favourite memories, photos, or personal condolences via Fred’s online tribute page at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com.
