The Life of Katharina (Toews) Isaac
Katharina (Katie) Isaac was born in Elmira October 23, 1924 to Jacob and Anna Toews. The family moved to Reesor, Northern Ontario in 1925 and then moved to Leamington in 1936. Katie worked on farms in the summer and the factory in winter.
Katie was baptized in 1943, and became a member of Leamington Mennonite Church. She did office work for several years, taught Elementary School and became a Teacher Librarian. In 1973 Katie married Herbert Isaac. They moved to St. Catharines in 1978 and became members of the St. Catharines Mennonite Church. In 1995, Katie joined Scottlea Gospel Chapel. Herb and Katie moved to Ina Grafton in 2005 and really enjoyed their apartment there. She lost Herb in 2015 and continued to live in Ina Grafton Assisted Living apartment until she went to the Hospital on July 1, 2024.
Katie leaves to mourn her 3 Caregivers, Linda Pankratz, Kate Reimer and Shirley Arnold, and also many nieces and nephews, their spouses and families. Her In-laws, Margaret Toews, Anna Isaac, Albert and Margie Isaac, Aileen Isaac, Erika Isaac. She is predeceased by her parents Jacob and Anna Toews, brothers, Cornelius, John and Peter; sisters, Erna, Olga, Alice and Frieda. As well as Marianne Boschman
Thanks goes out to all the staff at Niagara Ina Grafton Gage Village who so patiently waited hand and foot on Katie. Also, thanks to the Emergency Department and Medical Unit at St. Catharines General Hospital.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 12th, 2024 at 10:30am at Scottlea Gospel Chapel (500 Scott St, St. Catharines) funeral service at 11am. Luncheon to follow. Interment at Niagara Lakeshore cemetery following the luncheon
