Olga Cannon (née Turowec)
July 24, 1949 – August 4, 2024
Olga Cannon, 75, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, August 4, 2024. Born on July 24, 1949, in a town outside of Stuttgart, Germany, she was the beloved daughter of the late Serge and Mary Turowec.
Olga, together with her former husband, Paul, raised three children—Melodie, Timothy, and Natalie—with love and dedication. She worked as an administrative assistant at McMaster University for over 27 years, where she was admired for her kindness and strong work ethic.
Her faith was a central part of her life, reflected in her long-standing involvement with her church, where she played the piano and organ and sang in the choir for many years.
A loving grandmother, Olga was deeply devoted to her only grandchild, Eden, and adored her great-grandchildren—Ellis, Kristian, Jaxon, Mileva, and Weston. Despite the distance, she maintained a close relationship with them.
Olga is survived by her children, Melodie, Timothy, and Natalie; her granddaughter, Eden; her great-grandchildren, Ellis, Kristian, Jaxon, Mileva, and Weston; her brothers, Alex and Tony; and her sisters, Helen and Ann.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Bethel Gospel Tabernacle, 1355 Upper Wellington, Hamilton. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM, with a small reception afterward at the church. Interment will take place at Burlington Memorial Gardens at 2:30 PM.
Flowers are welcome as a gesture of sympathy and remembrance.
