Elspeth (Bet) passed away peacefully on July 13, 2024. She is predeceased by her husband, Reginald, in August 2011. Bet is survived by their two children, daughter Ruth (Joe) and son Colin (Christine) and three grandchildren, Michael, Ian (Olivia) and Jonthan. Elspeth Hancock, better known to family and friends as “Bet” was born to Charles Hunt and Dorothy Cook in Oxford, England on January 23, 1936. Bet was the oldest of five children, two sisters and two brothers. Reg and Bet, along with their two young children, immigrated to British Columbia, Canada in November 1963. Shortly after, they purchased their house and settled in New Westminster. Bet always enjoyed knitting, reading, her garden and spending time with their grandchildren!
