March 17 1929 – August 1 2024
With family close, Pat passed peacefully on August 1st at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on her terms. Daughter of Edward Dubie and Cordelia Logan, Pat will be lovingly remembered by her son, William Edward Hockley (Pam) of North York, daughter, B Anne Jackson (Kevin) of Scarborough and grandchildren Karen (Scarborough) and Heather (North Vancouver). She was preceded in death by her husbands William Joseph Hockley (d. 1988) and Harry Cleland (d. 2010).
Pat lived a full and fulfilled life. Born in St Michael’s Hospital Toronto, she spent her early years in Cabbagetown. Following school at St. Joseph’s, Pat moved to Uxbridge where she met a dashing veteran recently home from Europe and they married in 1947. Pat and Bill raised their family in West Hill and built their cottage and log cabin in the Halliburton Highlands 1967-1988. When there was snow, they loved to ski cross country. They were also avid square dancers for many years. Pat retired from General Motors’ Scarborough office in 1986 with 25 years of service. Pat and Harry, her charming Irishman, were married in 1991 and spent summers in Pickering and then New Hamberg. They travelled often, visiting many ports of call around the globe and enjoyed winters in Arizona.
As a single senior, Pat lived in the Court at Brooklyn, Harmony Hills, and Livita Pickering Retirement Residences.
In each of these many chapters of her life, Pat cultivated lifelong friendships. Her family and friends will always remember her positive outlook and easy laugh.
A private service will be held at Uxbridge Cemetery later this year.
