Anna Gacek, beloved wife and devoted mother, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the age of 78. Anna was a cherished presence in the lives of her family and friends. A cherished wife and mother of three boys, she dedicated her life to nurturing her family with unwavering love and support.
Anna had a deep passion for gardening, where she found joy in cultivating the beauty of nature around her. Her love of deer and the natural world was reflected in her gentle spirit and connection to the environment. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds; she had a heart of gold and always put her family and friends first.
Anna’s memory will live on in the hearts of her husband, John Gacek; her three sons, Mark (Jennifer), Robert (Jessica), and Matthew (Marta); and her beloved grandsons Caleb, Justin, Ben, and Colton. She will be missed by her siblings Jan (Barbara), Sister Marianna, Jozef (Maria), Helena (Jozef), and Aniela (Andrzej), sister in law Aniela, brother in law Marian; as well as her nieces and nephews Anna, Angela (Ben), Greg (Harriet), Wojciech (Monika), Rafal (Wiola), Pawel (Magda), Teresa (Krzysztof), Pawel (Joanna), Dorota (Zbigniew), Janusz (Joanna), Andrzej (Boguslawa), Piotr (Paulina), Agnieszka (Wojciech), Barbara (Piotr). Anna was preceded in death by her brother Wladyslaw, and sister Zofia. She will be forever remembered for her warmth, compassion, and the profound impact she had on the lives of those she loved.
Prayer service will be held on Wednesday, July 31, at 7:00 p.m. at the Snodgrass Funeral Home (200 Woodgate Road, Okotoks). The memorial service to honour Anna’s life will be held on Friday, August 2, at 1:00 p.m. at St. James Parish (338060 32 St. E, Okotoks). Anna’s wishes were for this to be a celebration of life by her family and friends. As such, please feel free to wear florals and colourful attire to the Prayer and Funeral Services. Anna’s family warmly welcomes all who wish to attend.
To honor Anna’s love of nature, in lieu of flowers, the family will be collecting donations towards a memorial tree planting, as well as a memorial bench placed close to the family home. A donation box will be available at the memorial service if you wish to make a contribution (e-transfer will also be available).
