It is with sadness we announce the
peaceful passing of Muriel Jean Louise
Steele, age 92, of Amherst. Muriel passed
away at Gables Lodge in Amherst on Friday, July 26,
2024.
Born in Port Elgin, NB, she was a
daughter of the late Charles and Lillian (Reid) Davis.
Muriel was very involved with children
and exchange students as well as billeting several Amherst Rambler
players. She was very active in the church and Lionettes and her
community. In her younger years Muriel and her husband loved to
travel.
She will be dearly missed by 2 sons
Larry (Valerie), Beaverbank and Jim (Irene), Amherst as well as her
companion Bill Churchill, Amherst; 2 grandchildren Jamie (David)
Hunter and Brandon Steele (Sarah Doak); great grandchildren Calvin,
Jayda, Brooklyn, Madeyln, Wolf, Harlow, Augustus.
She was predeceased by her husband James
Steele; brothers Charles (Sharon) Davis and Ralph
Davis.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Family Funeral Centre,
70 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777). A time of public
visitation will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 31,
2024 from noon until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by her funeral
service. Interment will take place at the Fernwood
Cemetery.
