March 14 1936 to July 23 2024
In his 89th year at Warkworth Place. Loving husband of 63 years to Elva White. Father of Shelley (late Reg), Dawn (Rick). Grandfather to Nicholas & Jamie (Cody). Great Grandfather to Sadie. He is survived by his brother-in-law Nelson (Debbie) White & sisters-in-law Gail (Penny) White, Charleen White along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Nicholas & Mabel (Hogg), brother Barry, sister-in law Shirley (Elgin) Greenham, June White, brothers-in-law Lloyd & Cliff White.
Don spent his life in Roseneath, growing up on Islandview Road then moving to Webb Road then back to Islandview. He worked for Lang & Smith, Harwood Creamery & retired from Kraft General Foods. He is the last founding member of the Valley Hi Hunt Camp in Maynooth, where he spent many days hunting and teaching the next generation(s) to hunt. He loved to hunt, fish and race standardbred horses.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 10, 2024, at 1pm at Merrills Cemetery 171 Merrill Road Roseneath Ontario. Following the service, a light lunch will be offered at St. James Anglican Church at 21 Church Road Roseneath On. Lawn chairs are welcome at the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St James Anglican Church or Roseneath Agricultural Society. Cash or Cheque are accepted by both.
The family would like to thank the staff at Warkworth Place for the care given during Don’s stay.
