It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Drago Galić, who departed peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Drago was born in the serene village of Kongora, Croatia, a place forever cherished in his heart. His life’s journey led him to Toronto, where he created a home filled with warmth and love.
Throughout his life, Drago was a pillar of strength and wisdom to all who knew him. He was a devoted husband to Matija, his beloved wife of 59 years.
A loving father to Dražana Marek (Anthony) with their children Katarina (Michael), Tomas, and Mathieu, and to Dr. John Galić (Maria) with their son Leopold. Drago was also a beloved uncle to Kata Knežević, her son John, wife Stephanie and daughters Veronica and Violet.
Drago is now reunited with his siblings Ilija, Ante, Božo, Kata, and Anđa in eternal peace. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kindness, and commitment to his friends, family and kumovi.
Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W. on Wednesday, July 24th from 5-9 P.M. The Rosary will be prayed at 8 P.M.
Funeral Mass will take place at Our Lady Queen of Croatia Parish, 7 Croatia St. on Thursday, July 25th at 10 A.M. Interment to follow at Park Lawn Cemetery.
