DEMEESTER, Andre Hector (October 21, 1937 – February 18, 2023)
The Demeester family sadly announces the passing of a much-loved father, father-in-law, ‘’grampy,’’ grandfather, brother, special uncle and much-loved friend to many, Andre (‘’Andy’’) Hector Demeester of RR1 Delhi in his 86th year. Born in Tillsonburg, son of the late Arsene Demeester and late Adronie (Debruyne) Demeester.
Andy grew tobacco and was always a proud farmer at heart. He served his fellow tobacco farmers for years of representative service with the Ontario Flue-Cured Tobacco Growers’ Marketing Board. In the Langton community, Andy was recognized as a very dedicated hockey volunteer and he became a Life Member of Langton Minor Hockey Association. Andy was well-liked throughout the area and was a regular attendee at the Coffee Corner. Andy was predeceased by his much-loved wife of 50 wonderful years Leona (Rebry) Demeester. Loving father to Brian (Kris) Demeester and their son Jeff (Karen) Demeester, Trish Kozack (Jamie) and her children Tori (Jared), Trevor (Krystal) and their father Dan Kozack. Great ‘’grampy’’ to Landen Demeester and Connor and Katie Parisien. Survived by brother Roger (Pauline), sister-in-law Madeleine Ghesquiere (Norel 2008), Yvonne VanKeymuelen (Gene 2008). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by infant son (1964) and by sister-in-law Simonne DePauw(2022) and her husband George(2010).
Friends, neighbours, and relatives are invited to attend a public visitation on Friday, February 24th, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes- Burial and Cremation Services Inc., 40 Queen Street, Langton. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 25th, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 24 Albert Street, Langton, by Rev. Father Seejo John. Inurnment follows in Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery, Langton. Join the family for a Catholic Woman’s League Luncheon in the Langton Community Centre afterwards.
