Obituary
Swaine, Thelma Pauline – 91, of North West Harbour passed away peacefully at Roseway Hospital on July 5, 2024. Born in Port Clyde March 2, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Wellington and Elsie (Bower) Nickerson. She is survived by sister, Virginia Nickerson, Port Clyde; daughters, Marjorie (Russell) McNally, Nuttby, NS and Marilyn Swaine, Port Clyde; sons, Carl Swaine North West Harbour and Edwin Swaine Calgary; granddaughters, Sarah (Dave) Fisher Valley, NS and Kelly McNally (Chris) Greenfield, NS; great-grandchildren, Addison, Harrison, Hudson and Luke. Also several nieces and nephews. Thelma was predeceased by her husband, Harry; brothers, Douglas, Allison, Gordon and Lawrence “Buck”; sisters, Dorothy, Jeanette, Evangeline, Frances and Louise. Thelma did babysitting and housework in her early years. Later she worked as a storekeeper and at raising her family. She like talking with people and had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed listening to Bluegrass Music, drinking Diet Coke, watching Nascar, playing cards, doing crosswords and everything Christmas. Cremation has taken place. No service by request. Interment in Pleasant Plains Cemetery at a later date. A special thank you goes out to the staff at Roseway Hospital for their compassion and care. Donations can be made to Roseway Hospital or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington.
