Passed away on June 20, 2024 three days after her 94th birthday, at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare. She was the beloved wife of the late Bob, and only daughter of Ralph and Hilda Pike. She leaves her daughter Lori and her partner Darren Winger, her son Doug and his wife Donna, and her beloved grandsons Oliver, Andrew and Jeremy Swainson.
June was born and raised in Buchans, Newfoundland. The family migrated to Canada during WWII on the last civilian ship to leave the island, and they settled in Hamilton. She met Bob at a Grey Cup football game in Toronto in 1954 and they were married at the First United Church in Hamilton in 1956. They enjoyed many years as active members of the Windsor Yacht Club, spending summers boating with friends in and around the Great Lakes with winters spent in Florida.
As per her wishes, a private service has taken place. For those wishing, donations can be made to Transition to Betterness or the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
