The death occurred peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of
the Community Hospital, O’Leary, on Sunday, June 2, 2024, with his
loving family by his side, of Stephen Henry (Sonny) McInnis, of
Tignish, age 78 years. Beloved husband to Judy Anne (nee Gallant)
McInnis. Born at Alberton on September 16, 1945, he was the
son of the late Stephen and Bertha (nee Perry) McInnis.
Loving father to Rhonda McNeill and Darren (Nicole) McInnis
of Tignish. Cherished grandfather to Kristin (Tyler) McCue,
Ryan (Emily) McNeill, Kayden McInnis, and Charlie McInnis, and
great-grandfather to Mateo, all of Tignish. Dear brother to Allan
(Carolyn) McInnis and Roma (Claude) Dorgan of Tignish. He is also
survived by his brother-in-law, Ed Gallant of Tignish, and
by a sister-in-law, Marion Brooks of Sus, NB. Sonny will
be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, and by his many friends and
acquaintances.
He was predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Bertha
McInnis, his brother, Eric McInnis, his father and mother-in-law,
Peter and Mary Gallant, and by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Rita
Green, Fran Morehouse, Reg Gallant, Irene McLean, Dorothy LeBlanc,
Thelma Costain, Alfred Gallant, Theresa Arsenault, and Carmie
Murphy.
Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel Alberton.
Complete funeral arrangements and visiting hours to be
announced.
As an expression of sympathy memorials in Sonny’s memory may
be made to the Tignish Seniors Co-op Home (Long Term Care Unit),
Tignish.
