Evelyn (Lyn) Hawthorne
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, at the age of 92.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Adam, of 73 years.
Loving mother of Roslyn Nestic, Beverly Joseph and the late Ron, Wayne, Terri, Kelly and deceased daughter Sandy. Cherished grandmother of Sandra and Adam (Laura). Great-grandmother of Lacey, Jaxon and Rowan. Lyn will be lovingly remembered by many families and friends here and in Northern Ireland.
Lyn will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered as an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved being surrounded by her family and was also known as always ‘doing the laundry’.
She was an active member of the Oshawa Senior Community Centre, where she enjoyed line dancing and singing.
Cremation has taken place and a Private Family Celebration will be held. Memorial donations in her memory may be made to The Hospital for Sick Children or Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
