Ruby Frances Bourgeois Obituary
With great sadness the family of Ruby Bourgeois announce her passing at the age of 80 at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL, on May 6th, 2024.
Ruby was born on April 27, 1944, in Carbonear, NL, to Mary and William Clarke, the youngest of seven children. She loved to dance, bake, drive to Pinchgut Resturant for a plate of fries, volunteer, camp, and to tell a good joke.
Ruby married Joseph “Kevin” Bourgeois and together they had 5 children: Wanda (Paddy) Martin, Kevin, Danny (Heather) Bourgeois, Pauline (Rick) Landry, and Con (Tammy) Bourgeois. Ruby was a fun and loving grandma to: Emili (James), Colin (Kindra), Alexandra (Jesse), Krystal, Emma, and Joseph; and an adoring great-grandma to Jasmine.
Ruby is also survived by: her doting partner of 15 years, Harold White; sisters: Vivian Penney and Shirley Penney; and a large circle of family and friends.
She was predeceased by: her husband Kevin, sisters: Mae Butt, Ann Dickson, and Florence Earle; and brother Clyde Clarke.
Following her wishes, cremation has taken place and a visitation and prayer service will take place on Thursday, May 9th from 2 – 4 PM at Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville, NL.
The family extends a warm thank you to the staff at the Acadian Village Senior Retirement Living and the staff at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their care of Ruby.
