Marjorie Doreen Bieber passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, at the age of 93, two days short of her 94th birthday. Marjorie was born on May 6, 1930, and was the seventh child of Joseph and Katherina (nee Yeadon) Schmidt. She was baptized, confirmed and married at the Zion Lutheran farm church in the Neudorf district.
Marjorie received her education at Neudorf Public School and helped on the family farm until her marriage to Otto Bieber at the age of 18. Marjorie and Otto farmed one mile south of the original Bieber homestead and were blessed with 62 years of marriage and three children – two daughters and a son. They drove school bus for 18 years while continuing to farm and later moved to Neudorf to enjoy semi-retirement in December of 1985.
Marjorie enjoyed singing alto in the Trinity Lutheran choir and travelling to Edmonton, Vancouver and various places in the United States, including Hawaii. She also enjoyed curling, dancing, playing cards, watching Riders football, and baseball games; but her happiest moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Marjorie became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville on November 23, 2022, and resided at the home until her passing. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at St. Paul for their kindness and care.
Marjorie was predeceased by husband Otto in 2010; grandson Nathaniel in1990; parents Joseph and Katherina; brothers Edward, Ernie, Walter and Gordon; as well as her sisters, Evelyn and Olga.
Mourning Marjorie’s passing are her daughters, Verna and Lyla; son Blair (Deb); grandchildren Megan (Zak) and Jordan; great-granddaughter Drew; sisters Adeline Youck and Clara Schweitzer; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
