It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of James (Jim) W Beath on Friday, April 26 at the age of 67. After many months of enduring a hard battle, he crossed peacefully surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home. Jim was loved beyond measure and although we feel complete heartache at the loss of an incredible man, we could not be any more proud of his fight. “Never give up, never give in” was his motto and he did that right to the end. As much as we cannot imagine life without him, it brings us comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and is pain free. Always in our hearts and loving memory; he will be greatly missed by his devoted lifelong partner of 50 years Brenda Beath, daughters Angel (Mike), Kaitlynn (Brad) and Amanda (Eric). Loving Poppy to his absolute pride and joys Ellie, Adelynn, Hailey, Kendall and Emmett. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother Robert (Judy) Beath.
Jim was the epitome of hardworking; retiring with 39 years of service with CP Rail. His love for all things railroad, motorcycles, old cars, sports, music and a good time always guaranteed enjoyable conversation. We are forever grateful for the family members, long term friends and neighbours who helped us through this tragic experience over the last several months. As part of Jim’s final wishes, his body has been donated to the University of Ottawa for research and teaching. A private celebration of life will follow. Expressions of sympathy can be made in his honour by donation to The Ottawa General Cancer Centre.
