Marion Louise Parsons
1938-2024

Marion Louise Parsons, 86, of Alma passed away on April
22nd, 2024 at Forest Dale Home.

Marion was born in Riverside-Albert on
February 1st, 1938 the daughter of the late Nelson and Thelma (Greene)
Tingley.

She lived in Riverside-Albert until
she was 15 when she and her family moved to Alma. She got a job as a
waitress. She would meet the love of her life, Allan Parsons and they
were married on November 17, 1956. They then started their family and
Marion was a stay at home housewife and mother who took great pride in
raising her family. She was a seamstress and made her children’s
clothes. She became involved in the Alma Home & School
Association, Alma Recreation Council, Leader of the Girl Guides of
Canada, Lioness, Alma Celebration Days and the Fiddlefest. As her
children got older she made a run for Councillor in Alma andserved for
15 years and was Mayor for 3 years. She was definitely a hard working
advocate for the Village of Alma, giving up so much of her time to
help and volunteer whenever and for whatever was needed. Her community
was very lucky to have such a dedicated volunteer. She volunteered for
the Meals on Wheels Program, was always at the Alma Rink. Marion was
an avid Bingo fan, she would pick up people and travel all over the
county to play bingo and usually went out to eat after the games,
especially loving the Chinese food outings. She enjoyed hiking and
travelling with family and friends. She made crafts, and many
Christmas ornaments which she sold at craft sales. She also enjoyed
hunting and usually got a 12 or 14 pointer on the first day. She loved
card parties and made ceramics and was an active member of the
Senior’s Club in Alma. She was an amazing woman.

Although she did a lot in her
lifetime, the greatest achievement in her life was being a wife,
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family meant everything
to her. She often said «the most important thing to me is my
family and they always come first and myself second.» She loved
hosting family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was someone you could always count on to be there and this meant
so much.

During the last few years as Marion
struggles with her sight, she was very blessed to have people in her
community help her out as she has helped so many in the past, it
really is true you get what you give. She was blessed to have Cheryl
Anderson and Wanda Mindy and Kirstin Shortt in her life to help. With
the help of these ladies and her family she was fortunate to stay in
her own home until just this year. She enjoyed visits from family and
friends at the homes and really looked forward to Tom’s visits with
his dogs. The family will miss her terribly but are comforted by the
fact she passed away peacefully in her sleep.

She will be deeply missed by her
children, Sharon McBrine (Garry) of Nauwigewauk and Tom Parsons (Lisa)
of Beaverbrook; her treasured grandchildren, Adam, Rachel, Amie-Sue,
Jessica, Nikki, Jared, Colton and Hailey; her precious great
grandchildren, Griffin, Julie, Jayden, Jordan, Jacob, Wyatt, William,
Walker and Cohen; sister Barb Wyers (Baden) of Hampton; sister-in-law,
Beulah Michelin of Waterside. She will also be missed by several
nieces and nephews and by all her in-laws , The Parsons
Family.

Besides her parents she was
predeceased by her husband, Allan Parsons; sons Christopher and Paul;
brother, Herb Tingley.

There will be no visitation. The
funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on
Friday, April 26th, 2024 at 2:00pm with Pastor Paul Steeves
officiating. The family will be having a time of sharing memories and
refreshments following the funeral service. The interment will be in
the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, Albert County, NB.

Donations to the Bayview Cemetery or
charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly
appreciated.
