Skidmore: Gary Marvin
A resident of Chatham, Gary Skidmore passed away at Riverview Gardens on April 20, 2024 at the age of 82.
Born in Chatham, Gary was the son of Cecil and Edith (née Whittal) Skidmore.
Gary was the beloved husband of 59 years to Diana (née Smith).
His memory will be forever cherished by his brother Ron (Elona, 2015) Skidmore of Simcoe.
Gary was the brother-in-law to Ralph Makey (deceased) and Jean Pinch of Wheatley, Jim (deceased) and Trish of Wyoming, Caroline and Ken (deceased) Osborne of Kent Bridge, Helen and Ron (deceased) Walker of Blenheim, Dick and Norma Jean Smith of Erie Beach, Linda and Don (deceased) Tuach of Chatham, Abbie and Janice Smith of Chatham.
Gary will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Gary worked at International Harvester for 36 years. He enjoyed playing baseball and hockey and became an avid golfer in his later years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
The family is very appreciative of the wonderful staff at Riverview Gardens. They would like to extend a very special thank you to Nathan Rogers for his kindness and care.
Family will receive friends at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St Clair Street, Chatham, on Thursday April 25th from 12:00 pm until the Funeral Service at 1:00 pm.
Donations made in memory of Gary to Emmanuel Baptist Church or Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
