It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Douglas Lambert, who left this world on April 18, 2024 at the age of 83. Douglas peacefully passed away in Chatham surrounded by his loving family.
Doug was a son of the late Charles and Mable (Alderton) Lambert.
Born on March 19, 1941, Douglas lived a fulfilling life leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who always put his family first. His love for his wife of 62 years, Charlotte was unwavering and served as an inspiration to all. He was a loving father to his children, Doug, Jeanette (Ray) Authier and Lloyd Lambert, and a doting grandfather to his 6 grandchildren, Trish (Sylvester) Coley, Mike (Jessica) Lambert, Melissa (Jared) Bond, Crystal (Aaron) Langford, Derek (Victoria) Authier and Helen Lambert, and 6 great grandchildren, Zachary Lambert, Alexis Riehl, Austin Langford, Kira Authier, Dakota and Shilo Brisson-Fahselt.
Douglas was a true outdoorsman who loved spending his time in nature. He was an avid wood-worker who took pride in his craft. Douglas was also a member of the Moose Lodge for 54 years, where he enjoyed playing darts and pool with his friends.
Douglas’ dedication to his work was evident in his 40-year career at Libby (Nestle). After retirement, Douglas still continued to work various jobs, always eager to stay busy.
Douglas was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Bennett, his father, Charles Lambert, sisters, Joan Foster and Margie Edwards and his brothers, Norman Bennett and Jim Edwards. He will be deeply missed by his surviving members including sisters Dawn (Jim) Simpson, Darlene Edwards, Bonnie (Danny) Sabados, and in-laws, Deanna Hudson, Kathy Caron, Bonnie Hendriksen, Sheldon (Deb) Caron
and Henry (Sue) Caron, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Douglas will be remembered by his kind heart, his love for his family and his unwavering dedication for his passions. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Following his wishes, cremation will take place.
Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Lupus Canada may be left at the funeral home.
