Obituary
It is with the heaviest of hearts that the Di Bratto Family announce the passing of Dolores (Addolorata) Di Bratto (nee Lastoria). Dolores will be greatly missed as a devoted wife to Onorato Di Bratto for 52 years; proud Mother of Salvatore, Isabella and Elora (James); most loving Nonna to Caprese and Sienna Aspin, and Pierce Di Bratto; and lovely sister to the late Nicolino (Genoeffa), Tonino (late Vincenza), Vincenzina (late Venerino), and Maria (Nick).
Dolores was born on October 23, 1936, in Civitanova Del Sannio, Isernia, Italy, and daughter of Giovanni and Maria Felicia Lastoria. She immigrated to Canada on June 9, 1959, and grew up as a ‘jill of all trades’, working as a seamstress, and a trusted babysitter over the years.
Beautiful Dolores devoted her life to her faith and family. She was one of a kind with the biggest heart of gold. She embodied the best qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, an unending generosity, kindness, and finding humour in everyday life. Her happy place was in the garden and growing the most beautiful flowers, cooking and baking in the kitchen and making the most delicious biscotti, cookies, and meals. Dolores will also be remembered for her storytelling, lighting up a room with her smile, and making everyone she met feel at home.
Dolores touched the lives of many people.
