Obituary
It is with great sadness, we the family, announce the sudden passing of Jerome Francis Stamp, of St. Vincent’s, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 84 years, while surrounded by his loving wife and children, on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital.
Jerome is predeceased by parents Katherine & Edward Stamp; brothers: Larry (Rita), George (Anita) and Mike (Theresa); sisters: Anna (John), Ethel (Bill), Carmel (Bob) and Mary (Peter), brothers-in-law Gerard St. Croix and Peter St. Croix; all deceased members of the Stamp and Hayward Families, including brothers-in-law Gerard Hayward and Leonard Hayward; and most importantly his special sons Darrell and Dermot who will be waiting in Heaven for him with open arms.
Leaving to mourn his wife of 61 years, Evelyn (nee Hayward), his children: Melvin, David (Gloria), Denise (Mark), Patrina (Tony) and Sheldon; his cherished grandchildren who were the light of his life and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Dad was a family man and very hard working in providing for his family. Known as a pillar of his community, he spent over 40 years as a member of the St. Vincent’s Volunteer Fire Department and was respected greatly by all who knew him.
Resting at Fr. Battcock Memorial Chapel, St. Vincent’s on Friday, April 12, from 12:30pm – 8:00pm and Saturday, April 13, 10:00am – 12:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent’s, on Saturday, April 13, at 1:00pm. Burial to follow.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to St. Vincent’s Volunteer Fire Department, in care of the family.
