The family of Myrna Dawn Henry
(McMinniman) are saddened to share the news of her passing at York
Care Centre on April 6, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with
cancer. Myrna was born in Fredericton on July 7, 1937 to the late
Dorothy and Donald McMinniman. Myrna was a very active and devoted
member of The Salvation Army her entire life. The church
members were her extended family and she welcomed everyone with open
arms, making herself available to anyone in need.
Myrna is survived by her loving
husband of 68 years Alton Henry, children Debbie (Clair) Young, Diane
(Rod) Robichaud, Tim (Kim) Henry, grandchildren Lindsay (Juan) Perez,
Mitch(Shelby) Young, Andrew(Aileen) Robichaud, Marc(Julia) Robichaud,
Tyler (Alexzandrya) Henry, Jeremy (Natalie) Henry, great grandchildren
Kai and Myla Perez, Morgan Robichaud, Jack Young, baby girl Young and
baby girl Henry. Sisters Cathy(Dennis) Baird, Jill (Carl) Keirstead,
brother Wayne McMinniman, sister-in-laws Faye(Dale Banks) McMinniman,
Jessie McMinniman and Susan McMinniman, many nieces and
nephews.
Myrna was predeceased by her sisters
Joan (Steven) Doyle, Mary Hogan, brothers Carl, Brian, David, George
and Peter McMinniman; sister in laws Donna McMinniman, Marjorie (Ken)
Miller, Helen (Sheldon) Durling; brother in laws Leland (Gertrude)
Henry, Lloyd (Avis) Henry
Myrna was a loving wife and doting
Mom, Nana, Great Nana and «Mernie» to many of her nieces and
nephews who she thought of as her own children. She was a friend to
all and a mother to many.
Special thanks to York Care Centre
nursing staff for their wonderful care and compassion for Mom over the
past two years and particularly the last few days. Your kindness made
saying goodbye to Mom so much easier.
Visitation will be at The Salvation
Army Community Church, 531 St. Mary’s Street, Fredericton
from 4 to 7 pm April 26th followed by a Celebration of Life Service at
4pm on April 27th, 2024.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be
made to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army Community
Church.
