Robert Mitchell Obituary
Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 4, 2024. Born in Port Elgin on December 20, 1943, Robert William Mitchell of Owen Sound, was in his 81st year.
Beloved husband of Carol Mitchell (nee Gordon) of Owen Sound. Cherished papa of Cameron, Ryan and Jaelyn. Dear brother of Delaine McGill of Peterborough. Brother-in-law of Mike Gordon (Mabel), Linda Roberts, Heather Gordon, Sharon Graham (Bruce) and Jim Gordon (Carrie). Bob will be missed by all of his nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his sons Robert Mitchell and Mark Mitchell, parents Tom and Hazel Mitchell, sister Gwen Scott (Don), parent-in-laws Bob and Ethlinda Gordon, and sibling-in-laws John McGill, Patricia Maxine (Bob) and Norm Roberts.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation is taking place and a graveside service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, 190 1st St. SW, Owen Sound, on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 1 p.m., followed by a reception at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #6, 1450 2nd Ave W, Owen Sound. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Grey Bruce Residential Hospice – Chapman House or the Oncology Department at Brightshores Health System would be appreciated. Online condolences can be sent to Bob’s family by visiting his memorial at www.woodfuneralhome.ca.
