Garland, Robert «Bob» Bernard – It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bob Garland on Thursday, March 28, 2024. He leaves behind wife Sheila of 59 years. He is predeceased by his parents, John and May Garland, and brothers; John (Carole), and George. He will be missed by siblings; Frank, Rose (Alfonso), Dennis, Basil (Corinne), and Patricia (Philip). Loving uncle to many nieces, and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A special cousin of Janice and Dennis Gibson, Cec and Lynn Mumford, and John and Laurie Crowley.
Bob loved the land and was a good steward of the land. He took great pride in well planted fields.
Bob played ‘Old Timers’ hockey with the Oakwood Old Oaks for a time. His other loves were ice fishing on many local lakes, and in later years, enjoyed a good round of golf, and just getting together with friends.
Friends and family are invited to the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay, on Friday, April 5th from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, and on Saturday, April 6th from 11:30am until 12:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial, will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 31 Russell Street East, Lindsay on Saturday, April 6th at 1:00pm. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
A special thanks to all the caregivers who were exceptionally caring and supportive, especially Dr. Ruth Wilson, nurses; Leanne, Hannah. and Angela, PSW Laurie, and the other members of the Paramed staff and Saint Elizabeth nursing.
