Patrick Joseph O’Brien 1949-2023
Pat passed away peacefully at home on February 3, 2023, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving partner Susan Slachta, his children Kevin (Dana), Libby (Lee), and Brad (Shelby), grandchildren Talia, Abby, Stevie and Enzo, niece Ann (Mario) and nephew Doug. Predeceased by his parents Paul and Margaret (nee Speck), and sister Margaret Tollar.
Pat will be missed dearly by Karen (nee Feschuk), the Feschuk family, Kenny and Kelsy (Shane) Slachta and Alfrey Hodgkins. Also remembered by all his good friends from General Motors, especially those who were of great help in his last years.
Pat was born in St. Catharines and worked at General Motors as a Pipefitter for 44 years. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sailor, skier, and hiker.
The family would like to thank all the at home support staff that helped Pat stay at home as he wished.
A Celebration of Life for Pat will take place on April 15, 2023, from 1-4 at the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice if you wish.
