Barbara Elaine Vandermeulen
Elaine Vandermeulen of Carman, MB passed away peacefully at the Carman Memorial Hospital on March 13, 2024, at the age of 72 years.
She was predeceased by her twin brothers Elmer and Roy Blanchard. She is survived by her husband John, of 51 years, her children Matthew (Divine), Stuart, Tracy, Wes, and granddaughter Sophia, sisters Hazel Skelton, and Shirley (Lefty) Nyrose.
Mom was born and raised in the Carman area. She met John and raised four children. She was a very caring and selfless person who always put others ahead of herself. She enjoyed baking and sharing it with family and friends. For many years she worked diligently as secretary at the Dufferin Christian School. She had many talents and could play organ and accordion, which her neighbors would love to listen to as she played outside on beautiful summer evenings. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by all of us.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Canadian Reformed Church of Carman East. Viewing will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 7-8 p.m. at Doyle’s Funeral Home, Carman.
