It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Adele on Monday March 11, 2024, in her eighty-ninth year, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Jack for sixty years. Adored and exceptional mother and mother-in-law of Irving and the late Ricky Tajfel, Kenny and Maureen Tajfel. Cherished Grandma of Lauren and Jason (Prizant), Fallon and Richard (Varadi), Jamie and Max (Sigler), Morgan and Kayla (Seguev), Griffin and Amy (Garfinkle). Great-grandmother of Parker and Perrie Prizant, Leo and Rome Varadi, Joey and Zev Sigler, Gemma and Jade Tajfel. Daughter of the late Guta and and the late Leon Rowniak. Treasured sister and sister-in-law of Sarah and the late Sam Israelovitch, Sheilah and the late Joe Rovniak, the late Carola Gross and the late Moe Gross. Special aunt of her many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Adele was born in Warsaw, Poland and after fleeing her hometown at the onset of the war, her family escaped to Russia and years later, in 1949, made their way to their new home in Montreal, Canada. It was there that Adele met her husband Jack and they shared a beautiful life together.
Special thanks to the five incredible women who made Adele’s last years so meaningful Lidia, Teresa, Grazgna, Malvina and Dahlia. You cared for our mother like she was your own family, treating her with dignity, respect and love which allowed her to remain in the comfort of her own home in her final years.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Wednesday, March 13 at 11:00 am. Burial at Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at her home. Donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer Groupe, (AGI), (514) 485-7233.
Adele was the loving matriarch and led her life with full and complete devotion to her family. She will remain in our hearts forever.
