It is with the greatest sadness that Tristan, avid gardener, accomplished hardscaper and artistic welder, cat rescuer, Renaissance man, bon vivant, doting son, loving brother, and genuine friend, left this earth. He was passionate about mycology and orchids, building community, and rescuing cats. Tristan died while enjoying the desert and the scenery of the American South-West near Capitol Reef, Utah in a traffic accident. For Tristan, the desert was a spiritual place to recharge the batteries of life, be in touch with God’s creation, admire his beloved cacti, of which he had a vast collection, and be one with nature. As he often said, “tell me where you can find a more serene scene than a sky filled with stars in the still of a desert night.”
His parents, Enrico and Teresa, and sister Vanessa, are shattered by his sudden and untimely loss, as are his family and friends who Tristan touched intellectually, socially, and emotionally. We are inspired to follow his example and always honour his memory. None is greater than the loss of someone who has unselfishly helped people be better.
Relatives and friends are welcomed for visitation to Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 2-5 and 6-9 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church (811 Lawrence Ave., W) on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Tristan will then be laid to rest at York Cemetery (160 Beecroft Rd., north of Sheppard Ave.).
In his memory and in lieu of flowers, we would appreciate a donation made to any of the Mycology Society of Toronto, Southern Ontario Orchid Society, Toronto Cat Rescue.
