It is with profound
sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Boudreau (Bavis) on
February 23, 2024, at the age of 93. Born in Napadogan, New Brunswick,
on February 3, 1931, Betty’s life was one of enduring
strength, boundless love, and unwavering dedication to her family and
community.
Betty’s
career spanned over 25 years at HBC (Zellers) in Bathurst, where she
worked with dedication and joy. Her pioneering spirit shone brightly
in a time when it was rare for women to be in the workplace.
Betty’s resilience and work ethic were admired by all who
knew her, setting an inspiring example for generations to
come.
Betty was predeceased
by her beloved husband, Joseph Louis Boudreau, of Petit Rocher, New
Brunswick. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Ted,
Lawrence, Muriel, Raymond, and Annette. Her legacy continues through
her surviving brothers Keith, Murray, Kirk, Reg, Gerald, and
Brian.
Betty is lovingly
remembered by her son, Charles Boudreau (Tina) of Burton, NB;
grandsons, Michael (Christopher) and Jared (Courtney); and
great-granddaughters, Evie and Aubree, of Fredericton, NB and her
numerous nieces and nephews. Her role as a mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother and aunt was the cornerstone of her life, filled
with love, laughter, and the unforgettable aroma of her famous
mincemeat and strawberry rhubarb
pies.
An avid lover of the
ocean, Betty spent countless hours by the sea, a source of peace and
joy for her. Her connection to nature and her family’s
seaside gatherings will remain cherished
memories.
As we bid farewell to
Betty, we celebrate her life of love, resilience, and dedication. A
small gathering of friends and family will be held this summer in
Bathurst, NB, with the date and time to be determined by the family.
This gathering will honor Betty’s life and legacy, inviting
those she touched to remember her remarkable
journey.
In lieu of flowers,
the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of
their choice, in memory of Betty. This gesture honors her spirit of
giving and community
support.
Betty
Boudreau’s journey through life was marked by love,
strength, and unforgettable moments. She will be deeply missed but
forever remembered by those whose lives she
touched.
