Kenneth Ross Larabee, died peacefully at age 98 in Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario from complications of pneumonia on Sunday, February 18, 2024.
Ken will be remembered for raising six daughters with love and devotion together with his beloved wife Mary, his love of gardening and good food, with summers spent feasting on homegrown beefeater tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots; his corny sense of humour and enduring repertoire of dad jokes; his love of family gatherings around the table, indulging in roast dinners and always pie for dessert. Then there were his famous Christmas breakfasts with peameal bacon and eggs – and most delightful of all, the annual boxing day tournaments of euchre and crokinole where Dad was always the one to beat. A favourite verse was “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” Psalm 28:7
He will be remembered with deep love and affection by his six daughters Barbara (Dan) Ward, Christine Down, Arlene Larabee, Marilyn Arnold, Pauline (Lee) McNaughton, Louise (Kevin) Strong, 11 grandchildren Nichola, Allan, Nicholas, Katrina, Ben, Andrew, Loni, Mary Jo (1990-2009), Brendan (1987-2009), Trevor and Jack, 19 great grandchildren Cody, Franki, Hunter, Taylor, Gavin, Gwen, Elizabeth, Abigail, Samuel, Andrew, Daniel, Rebecca, Ethan, Logan, Corbin, Wesley, Farrah, Curren, Beckett and great great granddaughter Alexis. Born to Walter and Irene Larabee, beloved husband to the late Phyllis Larabee and the late Mary Larabee, and brother to the late Glen, Lyle and Dora.

Family and Friends are invited for visitation at the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231), on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8pm. His funeral will be held at the First Baptist Church (99 Thomas Ave, Wallaceburg) on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11am. He will be laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Royal Canadian Legion, Gideons International or St. Joseph’s Health Care (London) may be left at the funeral home.
