BRITTAIN, Maxine Ida – passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on February 14th, 2024 in her 100th year. Maxine was born on November 18th,1924. Beloved wife of the late Warren Brittain (2000). She will be remembered with great love by her children Tom (Nancy) Brittain and Jane Brittain. Caring grandmother of Victoria (Curtis) Pelton and Kenny Brittain. Treasured and cherished great-grandmother of Jasper who she adored. Predeceased by her parents Norman & Ida (nee Canning) Little and sister Eleanor (Ross) Wheeler. Maxine graduated nursing in 1946 and in 1954 joined her husband Warren with State Farm Insurance and retired after 34 years. They enjoyed many years travelling and enjoying time at their family cottage in Gogama, Ontario. Many thanks to Lindsay, Maxine’s wonderful PSW for months prior to going to LTC. Her final residence was Bella Senior Care Residence in Chippawa, Ontario. Thank you to the staff at Bella (Legends Ward), for their wonderful care and kindness to our mother while she was a residence there for a very short time. Thank you to GNGH doctors, nurses, and staff (especially Linda), who was so kind to our mother delivering her meals in the hospital. Also, thank you to Marcelita our mother’s wound nurse who was so very kind and compassionate in helping while she still lived at home. Maxine’s family would like to also thank the staff at Morse & Son Funeral Home, especially Scott Langford, for their help and compassion at this difficult time. We can’t express enough our gratitude to all of you and to all our wonderful friends and family who have been there through the years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. At Maxine’s request cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Morse & Son Funer al Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation in Maxine’s honour to a charity of one’s choice and toast her with your favourite beverage.
