Hilda Swailes Obituary
Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Brightshores Health System – Owen Sound, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Born in Sydenham Township on February 6, 1941, Hilda Margaret Swailes (nee Cahoon) of Owen Sound, was in her 84th year.
Beloved wife of David Swailes of Owen Sound. Loving mother of Doreen Smith (Randy) of Owen Sound, Ron Duggan (Lori) of Owen Sound and Donna Duggan of Meaford. Loving stepmother of Chris Swailes of Orillia, Teresa Hillyer (Kevin) of Brampton, Greg Swailes (Rachel) of Owen Sound, Scott Swailes of Ottawa and Erika Swailes of Owen Sound. Cherished Grannie of 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Hilda will also be missed by her several in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Predeceased by her parents Joe and Mary Cahoon, brothers Frank Cahoon and Lou Cahoon, by her infant sister Doreen and by 2 grandchildren.
In keeping with Hilda’s wishes, cremation is taking place and a private graveside service will be held. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
