Obituary of Bill McIllwraith
It is with great sadness, the family of William “Bill” George McIllwraith, of Quispamsis, husband of Linda (Kelly) McIllwraith, announce his sudden passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, February 2, 2024.
Born on October 8, 1955, in Saint John, he was a son of the late William F. and Hilda (Sudsbear) McIllwraith. Bill was a tradesman and a true craftsman at heart. Always working with his hands and keeping himself busy with multiple projects. He was a retired Construction Manager and Consultant. Bill was also a family man, enjoying watching his boys play hockey in their younger years and helping them with many projects and home renovations as they grew. He and Linda spent many winters in Florida on their sailboat, enjoying every moment together. Bill loved listening to music, driving his Harley, and spending time with his family.
Besides his loving wife, Bill is survived by his sons Shawn of Calgary, AB, and Adam (Joanni) of Kingston, his beloved grandson James, nephew Shane Foster, sisters; Annette McIllwraith and Hilda Foster, both of Saint John, in-laws; Brian and Teresa Chaisson, Stephen Kelly, David Kelly, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Bill was predeceased by his parents and his brother Michael.
Resting at Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (506-849-2119) with visiting from 4 – 7 PM on Friday, February 9, 2024. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill can be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation.
