In loving memory of Arnold Barry Robson, It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Arnold Barry Robson, aged 84, a cherished resident of Pelly, Saskatchewan.
He departed this world peacefully on February 1, 2024, at his beloved home. Barry entered this world on November 6, 1939, in the historic Eaton house on the Robson Farm, located just south of Robson Homestead.
He embraced a life deeply rooted in the values of hard work and dedication, having spent his entire existence tending to the land of the Robson Family Farm with unwavering commitment. Even at the age of 84, Barry remained steadfast in his industrious pursuits.
During his formative years, Barry engaged in various occupations including working for Serdachny Farms in Hyas, contributing to construction projects, and assisting at the auction mart in Norquay.
Subsequently, he assumed responsibility for the Family farm while concurrently operating a grader for the R.M of St. Philips.
On November 10, 1962, Barry united in marriage with the love of his life, Jeanette Seitz, the daughter of Joe and Josephine Seitz, at the St. Philips church. Their union was blessed with the joy of two children, Darrell Robson in 1963, and Derrick Robson in 1970.
In his later years, Barry found solace in the company of friends over coffee at the Friendship Centre and Pelly Happy Heart, all the while continuing his diligent care of the cattle he held dear.
Barry’s unwavering passion lay in the realm of hockey, both as a player and coach. He contributed his skills to teams such as the St. Philips, Kyle Elks, Kamsack Flyers, All-Star Pelly, and the Pelly Old Timers.
A true steward of the land, Barry nurtured a profound love for his farm and his beloved cows, embodying the essence of a dedicated farmer. His enduring devotion to his family and friends, coupled with his lifelong commitment to cattle farming, shall forever remain etched in the hearts of those who knew him.
Barry is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Jeanette Robson, his two sons Darrell Robson and wife Glenda, Derrick Robson and wife Tammy, his grandchildren Blake, Jenna, Darrelyn, and Derica, his sister Ruthie Henderson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He now joins his parents William and Irena Robson, his brother Jim Robson, and sister Vivian Curry in eternal peace.
A celebration of Barry’s will be held at the Pelly Hall on June 15, 2024, at 2:00pm with Laura Dahl officiating. Burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
