With his family by his side, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in his seventy-eighth year. Devoted husband of Shirley Grimes for over forty years. Loving father and father-in-law of Karen and Joel, Trish and Marc, Maggie and Craig. Proud Grandpa of Ariana, Talia, Jonah, Luca, Paige, and Mia. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Barbara and Paul, Eric and Dorothy, who were all his pride and joy. Son of the late Ben and Lottie Malkin, and Edith Malkin. Richard will be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, peers, by his many friends, and by his furry pal, Tuka. Special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, and Staff of Teresa Dellar Palliative Care for their compassionate care.
Richard spent much of his time volunteering, and placed a lot of importance in giving back and community work. Telethon of Stars, Civitan, and Lakeshore General Hospital, to name a few. His presence and sense of humor lit up any room he was in, and will be missed by all those who knew him.
Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, January 30 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Baron de Hirsch Community Foundation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield. Shiva Tuesday following burial until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Donations in Richard’s memory may be made to the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Foundation: click here.
