In Loving Memory of David Lloyd Lougheed
Passed away peacefully at Extendicare, Haliburton with his family by his side on Thursday, January 25, 2024, following a 2 year battle with dementia, at the age of 74.
David will be very sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Holly of Kinmount. Loving father of Denise (Darrin) Smith, Dana Lougheed (Robbie Lussier), David (Holly) Lougheed, and g-pa of Brittany and Blake, and papa of Sophie and Henry. Dear brother of John (June) Taylor, Don (Nancy) Carr, Cindy (Chad) Knarr, and predeceased by his sister Carol Smith. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family would like David to remembered for his passion, determination and devotion to the Peaceful Storm Martial Arts Club, the Kinmount Knights Hockey League, and for his love of playing the drums. He was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #441 Kinmount and a past volunteer firefighter for Galway, Cavendish and Harvey Townships.
The Lougheed Family would like to say a very special thank you to the staff at Extendicare in Haliburton for their exceptional, loving care shown to David during his stay there, especially during his last 2 weeks in palliative care. They went above and beyond to make sure that David was as comfortable as possible, as well as showing the same courtesies and compassion to us as a family. We appreciate what you all did for us so much. Your kindness and professionalisms will never be forgotten.
It was David’s wish to be cremated. Please join us for a Celebration of David’s Life at the Galway Hall, 388 Galway Road, Kinmount on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 2:00pm until 6:00 pm, to share memories, stories and of course photos of this beautiful man that left us way too soon.
Memorial Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family and can be arranged through the Gordon A. Monk Funeral Home Ltd., P.O. Box 427, Minden, Ontario K0M 2K0.
