The family of Seymour Avrith is saddened to announce his passing on Wednesday, January 24, in his eight-eighth year. Born May 2, 1936, he grew up in Montreal with his nine siblings. Seymour was a wonderful, giving son to his parents, the late Bella and the late Max Avrith. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joyce and Judge Steven Robinson; and brother-in-law of Natalie Avrith. Predeceased by his other siblings and their spouses, Michael and Jenny Avrith, Harry and Bertha Avrith, Nettie and Abe Shragie, Sam and Beatrice Avrith, Charles Avrith, Henry Avrith, Moses (Mushy) and Esther Avrith, and Phillip Avrith. Seymour will be deeply missed by his many much-loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, January 26 at 1:00 p.m. Burial at the Shomrim Laboker Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at 1 Wood Ave, Westmount, Friday following burial until 4:00 p.m., Saturday 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Donations in Seymour’s memory may be made to the Israel Emergency Fund c/o Federation CJA, (514) 345-2645, ext. 2600.
