MOORE, Clarence Frederick
May 16, 1927 – January 21, 2024.
Clarence passed away peacefully at the Northumberland Hills Hospital in his 97th year.
Beloved husband of Linda Moore (nee Davey). Father of Sally Vesey (Bill), John Moore (Lisa) and the late Fred Moore. Step-father to Sandy Wright (Larry). Grandfather to Stephanie Foster, Bryan Kerkhovan, Scott Foster, Emma Moore and the late Ramona Caporicca. Step-grandfather to Casey Jones and Alex Wright. Clarence also had several great-grandchildren.
Clarence was predeceased by his older brother Howard, younger sister Helen and younger brother Jim (Nedine). He is survived by his younger sister Pat.
Clarence was born to Marjorie and Fred and was proud to be from Es County. He went to highschool in Brantford before working on two farms and as a fertilizer salesman. Determined to be his own boss, he bought the Buttars farm in Baltimore in 1957.
Clarence was proud to be a ‘gentleman farmer’. One of his many sayings was, “If you’re going to do it, do it right or don’t do it at all.” His farm was meticulous and pristine.
Clarence’s pastimes were motivated by his joy of socializing. He was honoured to be a member of the Shriner’s Club. He was a member of the Colborne Curling Club and loved to travel to bonspiels. Later in life he took up tennis and, as he would say, “falling down mountains”, aka skiing. No matter the activity, his favourite part was the people he met and the friends he made.
A celebration of Clarence’s life will be held at a later date to be determined.
