April 29th, 1969 – January 20th, 2024
It is with broken hearts and the most beautiful memories, we announce the passing of Marion Marie Thorne, age 54 years. Surrounded by her family and friends at the Health Science Centre, Marie was carried home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Predeceased by her mother Mary Bradbury, her mother in law Mary Morgan, brother Michael and nephew Matthew Thorne.
After 40 years, Marie leaves to mourn her partner and soulmate Dave Morgan, her children and greatest treasures David Morgan (Shauna), Corey Morgan (Nicole) and Austin Morgan (Emily). Grand children David Morgan Jr, Malea Morgan and Ava Rae Morgan.
Also left to mourn are her Sisters Darlene Clarke (Arthur), MaryAnn Thorne (Steve), Sharon and brother Junior (Shelley), sister in law MaryAnn Morgan, brother in law Robert Conway, Special niece and her pride Paula Thorne, special cousin Kelly Bradbury, special long time friend Lynn Careen-Lahey (Nathan).
Along with other nieces and nephews and many family and friends that will miss her and her contagious smile.
Marie had the biggest heart and a smile that could light up the darkest room. Her giving nature made it natural for her to help anyone in need and her laugh would bring a smile to your face no matter how hard your day was. She loved her children, grandchildren and family more than anything! Anyone who was lucky enough to have met her, knew how truly special she was. I hope she knew that she made our lives better just by being it, she will be missed beyond measure and loved beyond words!
Thank you to the doctors and nurses on 5 north at the Health Science Centre who made her last days comfortable and we are extremely grateful for your compassion and kindness.
Love is stronger than death even though it can’t stop death from happening, but no matter how hard death tries…it can’t separate people from love. It can’t take away our memories either, in the end…love is stronger than death!
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue at a time to be announced.
Flowers and donations are welcome along with donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Marie’s Memory.
