It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear brother, uncle, great uncle, and loyal friend to many: Warren Emmott, of Fort Macleod, Alberta, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the age of 63 years.
Warren was born in Fort Macleod to Herb and Marg Emmott. His brother Rex and sister Sherrill were excited to welcome their baby brother. Fort Macleod became his life-long home. Growing up on the family farm gave him the perfect opportunity to develop his many talents of tinkering.
In the mid-1980’s, Warren had a brief marriage to his sweetie, Brenda. July of 1987 was a proud moment as he became a licensed Journeyman Electrician. During his apprenticeship and upon its completion, Warren was part of the construction of the new hospital and the Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump, where he would continue working in maintenance. Later, he worked in maintenance at the Extendicare.
Warren’s talents were many when it came to repair, which led him to start his own appliance repair business. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. To supplement his business, Warren drove taxi and for the last years of his life, locals fondly remember him as the delivery person for Macleod’s Restaurant & Lounge. He carried out his duties diligently for the restaurant, rarely missing a day of work until the time of his passing.
Warren will be missed by his loving family including his brother Rex (Bonnie Robinson), niece, nephew, and six great-nieces and nephews, his sister Sherrill (Kevin) Conner; nieces Leanne (Zane Shaw), Elyse, and Jesse, his great nephew and co-worker Alex, great niece Kaylin, great nephew Carter, great niece Kamryn Three Persons, nephew Chad (Henriette) Conner, great niece Lexingtyn, aunt Florence Lockey, uncle Lawrence (Sheila) Anderson, and numerous cousins, second cousins, and their families.
He was predeceased by his mom Marg (2019) and his dad Herb (2021).
Warren will also be dearly missed by his work family and the entire community. He was always a kind and wonderful friend to all. We love you Warren, may you rest in peace.
A come-and-go reception will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 3:00PM -6:00PM at the Fort Macleod Legion, 159—23 Street. All those who knew and loved Warren are welcome to stop by to eat, visit, and celebrate his life.
