The Kovacs Family is sad to announce the sudden passing of Tibor Kovacs Sr. at his residence in his 63rd year, born April 30th, 1960 in Harghita, Romania. Tibor Sr. and Eniko Kovacs, his wife of 38 years, immigrated to Canada in pursuit of a better life for their children. Tibor Sr. was always dedicated to this ultimate goal, while persevering the culture and heritage of traditional life back home. Whether it was weekends spent fishing with his sons, Attila and Tibor Jr., cooking his favourite meals over the open flame, long walks in nature regardless of weather or tirelessly searching for ingredients to recreate dishes – just so that we could all enjoy the flavours of the home country. He left us with great memories of him and the old country.
He is predeceased by his father, Petru Baliga, and his mother Elisabeta Baliga. He leaves behind his immediate family, Eniko, Attila and Tibor Jr. His brother, Peter (and his wife Marta) and his sister, Gabriella (and her husband Laszlo), in his hometown. His Nephew, Agoston and his nieces, Krisztina and Dora. May he rest in peace.
Friends are invited to a memorial visitation at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cremation has taken place.
