Obituary of Margaret Mary Mitchell
Margaret Mary (Shannon) Mitchell, age 92 years, died on Thursday, January 11th, 2024. Margaret was born to Agnes (Kirwin) and Joseph Shannon of Putnam, Ontario. Margaret was an active Dorchester community member for 68 years. Margaret loved growing roses and flowers and after a visit you often left with plant slips. She enjoyed working for Dr. Alex Bohdanowicz & the Dorchester Township. She volunteered for the Horticultural Society, Cancer Society, and enjoyed bus trips and playing euchre with the Dorchester Seniors. She was a life long member of the CWL.
Predeceased by her husband James Mitchell, son John, brother Joe Shannon, brother & sister-in-law Francis & Eleanor Shannon, dear life long friends, Audry (O’Neill) Layton & Theresa (Kirwin) Bushell.
Loving mother of Agnes of Edmonton, sons Vincent (Lynda), Joe, David and Dan (Tara) of Glenco. Proud grandmother of Bradley (Michelle), Shannon (Evan), Christopher Arsenault, Jimmy, Jennifer, Thomas & Alison. Cherished great grandmother of Rylee, Maddi & Theo. Survived by daughter-in-law Michele. She will be missed by her dear friend Audry Pinnegar.
Family and visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, London on Sunday, January 14th, 2024 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Mary Immaculate Church, 1980 Trafalgar Street, London on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00am. Christian Burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jimmy and Margaret Mitchell may be made to the Stevenson Childrens Camp or to a charity of your choice.
