Gordon Butcher
With broken hearts, the family announces with great sorrow the sudden passing of Gordon Butcher at the Moosonee Health Centre on January 4th, 2024 at the age of 66 years. He leaves behind his son Savion Nakogee (Chelsea Cannon), daughter Anna Butcher, mother of his children Dawn Nakogee, granddaughter Navaya Nakogee, brothers George Butcher (Diane Butcher), Gary Butcher and brother-in-law Patrick Phillips. Gordon will be sorely and lovingly missed by his niece Theresa Crown, her husband and dear nephew in law, Stephen Crown along with their children, Amanda, Morgan and Benjamin Crown. He will also be dearly missed by his nephews, Kevin and Steven Butcher and his loving niece, Celine Butcher. He will also be dearly missed by his niece Kim Parr, her husband Brent Parr and their daughter Kayleigh Parr. Gordon is predeceased by his parents Florence and Edward Butcher and his sisters, Gwen Butcher and Gail Phillips (Patrick Phillips).
Gord had a great zest for life. He had a fierce love for his children and family and was thrilled with the birth of his first granddaughter Navaya, especially with her red hair. Gord served as a Paramedic for 28 years, during which he not only excelled as a clinician but also earned high respect for his compassionate care by colleagues and those he served. He officially retired in November 2019. His dedication to the well-being of others and the impact he had on the countless lives he touched stand as a testament to the selfless and committed individual he was.
A celebration of life will be held at Northern College gymnasium on January 9, 2024 with a viewing at 1:00 pm and services to start at 2:00 pm. As per his wishes, cremation will take place. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home, 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins, ON
