Obituary
KRAFVE, David Kirby – 59, of North East Point, passed away the QEII Infirmary, Halifax, on January 5, 2024. Born at Sandy Point, on April 8, 1964, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Doreen (Hunt) Krafve. David was very into sports, especially hockey. Not only cheering for his favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, while watching on television, he was greatly involved with the game of hockey through coaching and being a true advocate for the young players while serving as President for many years on the board of Shelburne County Minor Hockey. He also coached baseball as well. He greatly enjoyed watching racing and even drove a stock car in Sable River in his younger years. He was a very social man, he loved spending time with family and friends, and his pastimes reflected that; he loved camping, going on trips, and going to concerts with his children. He adored his family above all and his granddaughter (as well as his fur babies!) was the apple of his eye. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Maxine (Ryer) Krafve; children, Frank (Krista) Krafve, Felicia Krafve; sister, Sheryl Newell-Krafve; granddaughter, Allison Krafve; and special fur companions, Jovi, Bentley, Meeko, and Hobbles. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by brother, Lawrence Krafve Jr. “Buddy”; and sister, Darlene Krafve. There will be a memorial service held at H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, on Friday, January 12, at 2 pm with Pastor Jeff Peters officiating. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend. Memorial donations may be made to Shelburne County Minor Hockey, the Diabetes Association of Nova Scotia, or a charity of your choice.
