William «Bill» Taylor

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William «Bill» Albert Taylor who departed this world on December 30, 2023. Bill Taylor was born on April 1, 1943 to Reginald and Edna Taylor, and grew up on a farm located between Tugaske and Craik, Saskatchewan. He came to Regina to attend Sheldon-Williams High School and once graduated, stepped into the world of accounting. Bill had a gift with numbers that served him well throughout his career. It’s not often that those who can keep books can also shine in the area of sales. Bill was vastly talented at both, evidenced by his incredible legacy: the Taylor Automotive Group.
Outside of legacy building, Bill was also a gifted woodworker. His most recent hobby was the creation of delightful artisan birdhouses that replicated the homes of friends and family. But Bill Taylor’s cherished pastime was the game of golf. He was a prominent member at the Wascana Country Club in Regina where he contributed to its governance as both President (2001) and member of the Board of Directors. Bill was also an active member at Mission Hills Country Club in Palm Springs, where he and his wife Gaye spent their winter months.
Bill was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Gaye Taylor, children Dallas (Ryan Williams) and Chad (Roz Kelsey), and four wonderful grandchildren: Ethan, Tia, Georgia and Harrison. Bill is also survived by his brother Wilfred (Marlene) and a shedload of friends, far too many to mention. Bill is predeceased by his parents Reginald and Edna Taylor, his sister Ruby and his first wife Roberta (Bobbie) Taylor.
Beyond the golf course, on the vast fairway of life, Bill always knew how to score a hole-in-one with his wit and generous spirit. Bill leaves behind a legacy of honesty, diligence and stewardship that is forever etched in the hearts of those privileged enough to have known him. The Taylor family would like to express their gratitude for the love and support during this difficult time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Bill supported many charities. Flowers are gratefully declined; however a contribution to a charity of your choice would be appreciated
