Esther Szuchman, beloved wife of the late Ele (Alex) Szuchman. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Cypora and Martin Kalmanovitch. Loving mother and ex mother-in-law of Henia and the late Harold Solomon. Dear sister and sister in law of Renia and the late Toivia Potezman, the late Sara and the late Jacob Epstein, the late Joseph and the late Raya Cymerman. Devoted Bubbie of Rhonda and Steven, Monica and Laura. Dear grandmother-in-law of Eric and Brian. Loving Great-Bubbie of Sasha, Anton, Dylan and Troy.
Esther was a holocaust survivor, a gentle natured and sociable woman who always had a smile and kind word to everyone she met. People who were once strangers in the Promenade Mall food court became her good acquaintances if they happened to sit beside her. Many former Montrealers approached her when they recognized her from her many years in Montreal working at Cantor’s bakery in Cotes-Des- Neiges, and the 100th Ave. Bakery in Chomedey, Laval.
Our mom survived much tragedy but lived to see great grandchildren, and was always surrounded by the love of her family in her old age. We are grateful that she had such a long life, even though we, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, will miss her terribly.
A big thank you to To-Jo of Toronto Central Home and Community Care and Kayla of Circle of Care for their invaluable help, and to her PSW’s… Senait, Bellen, and Bella, for taking such good care of Esther in her final months.
