Obituary
Clifford Warren Hewitt passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at the Grey Bruce Health Services, at the age of 83. He spent his final moments surrounded by family, listening to the Irish Rovers and sharing his favorite memories.
Born in Kincardine to Clifford and Lucretia Hewitt, Cliff was the youngest of 4 siblings. He farmed for many years, ran several businesses and enjoyed his years driving trucks through Canada and the USA. Cliff liked spending time with friends in Bervie, Mildmay and Kincardine, and in the last few years particularly appreciated listening to music at the Legions in Chatsworth and Wiarton. He enjoyed talking politics and served his community through the Lion’s Club and local government over the years.
Cliff is survived by Duane (Lana) of Freelton, Sean (Stacey) of Stratford, Kathy of Owen Sound, and Erin (Mike) of Sebringville. He leaves behind grandchildren Chloe and Duncan, Max and Jack, Justin, Savannah, Hunter and Trinity, and Luke and Sadie. Also survived by many McGaw, Lemon, and Donnelly nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Clifford and Lucretia Hewitt, older sisters Aileen McGaw and Shirley Lemon, and infant brother John Darwin.
At Cliff’s request, cremation has taken place. A small ceremony will take place in the spring at the time of interment.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #208 Wiarton or the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #464, Chatsworth would be appreciated.
